Tulle Skirt .... No, Tulle Dress: LOL!!!

Good Evening Friends :)

I have been coveting some tulle skirts on the net from different shops but did not get one due to how expensive they really are and because I was also hoping to come across a reasonably priced one maybe at Woollies or Donna Claire. Unfortunately that did not occur and I came across a promising skirt at Mr Price in December 2013 - moreover the skirt was on sale and priced to go. I couldn't resist the price and I decided to just buy it, why not???

That's the skirt I am wearing here as a boob tube dress because when I got home everything was just wrong and not even close to what I had imagined to look like when wearing the real puffed up tulle skirt with many layers of lace. Disappointed :(

I was heart broken because this skirt worn as a skirt - the lace on top is just ridiculously long it really looked bad and made me look very short. So, I thought of cutting it to the length of my satisfaction but held that though as I played with some other ideas on how I could wear this without ruining the original design so that I can give it away still in intact state. So I thought of a boob tube dress :) That's exactly what I did with this skirt when I played dress up at home. I am still hurt its not a real thing but I am happy Mr Price gave me a taste of my dream and I really loved this orange colour as well cause it is very versatile to suit all seasons.

What do you say? Did I at least do justice styling this item? I needed to cover up to hide my bra line but decided to just let things be - I was at home not going anywhere, why not??? The belt could have been more nicer if was also orange I think, what do you say??

I boldly think this outfit is highly decent!!!

Simple Happiness

Happy Sunday Friends!!!

I am trying to stick to my word that the days of being inconsistent are over - so that you can all see that this page means a lot to me as it does to you as well.

With this post, I just wanna say - it is a new year and therefore we need to have new positive attitudes to attract happiness in our lives.

This means we need to complain less and appreciate more because in reality we have many things to be grateful  about in our lives its just that we are too busy to notice or identify them. Introspections must be done so that we can stop putting ourselves down and expect other people to come into our lives with happiness when we are not at peace with ourselves.

TO, HAPPINESS and being POSITIVE throughout this year!!!

Curves Around The World: GRUNGE

Good Evening my Fabulous Friends!!!

Its been a very long time since I last posted this is due to travelling I embarked on during this festive season and coming back to work. I think I have settled in not to miss any posts as this post is overdue and I apologise for the lack of consistency.

This posts theme is GRUNGE and if you were born before OR during 80s you will remember this kind of style as we wore many flannel shirts and doctor marten boots to spice up this look.

Many confuse punk with grunge forgetting that “Punk was antifashion,” and therefore was there to make a statement. Grunge was not about making a statement, which is why it’s crazy for it to have become a fashion statement. I am glad it did though, lol :)

The year fashion co-opted grunge in 1993 - Jean Paul Gaultier told Vogue  - grunge is nothing more than the way we dress when we have no money and that grunge has grown from the raw, messy scene surrounding the raw, messy sound—produced by a bedraggled pack of flannel-clad Pacific Northwest dropouts—that was suddenly the talk of the fashion establishment.

In my higher primary an high school GRUNGE was my staple fashion style and when looking around these days grunge is more polished up than before and that's the route I took for my outfit tonight. I think id call it Modernised Grunge or Grunge Chic ok, what ever relevant name you can give it. I am sure you get what I am trying to say here.

Now that you are probably in your 30s would you probably try this childhood fashion??? I like playing with my clothes and exploring styles and I think I can get used to this style on daily basis - pity I work in a serious environment :(

Whats your view on GRUNGE???

Curves Around The World: DIY

Hello, Friends :)

Its 2014, yes 2014 and I hope you all have landed safely in this new year! I am still on holiday at my mom's place and it is still very nice to be away from work and just be busy with family and holiday matters.

This is the first post of Curves Around the World this year and the theme is DIY. Ever since our list completion for this round I have been very excited with this theme which was chosen by Nina my mate from our group. This happiness was stemming from the fact that I always tailor my items to fit me the way I need and therefore that means - most of my outfits are practically DIYed to suit my unique figure, lol :)

For this outfit - I am wearing a Boob Tube Dress which I worked on to have sleeves as the top hem was not tight enough to stay fixed in one place and for this I used a belt that came with the dress.
For the purpose of this theme, I am showcasing how I have turned a recently bought shirt into a vest and also show how I have ensembled an outfit with this repurposed shirt.

I love DIY projects because they allow me to be creative and have unique and interesting items. My DIY love extends to accessories as well. I love changing the ones I already own into something special for example, giving an ordinary bangle a new life by wrapping it in a fresh and colourful print that can be re peeled into original state of the bangle in future when one is tired of that print cover.

I like simple projects as I don't really have ample time to be exploring complicated ones.

How far do you go with DIY Projects??? Love them just like me? What is your latest creation?
