Ombre Oxblooded Maxi Dress

Good Evening ... ladies!!!

I have been seeing some ombre maxi dresses in stores and on the streets of Mzansi - some are nicer than others. Whilst enjoying these scenes, I remembered that over the past few years I also invested in an ombre maxi that I buried eversince last summer - I hunted down for this dress from my closet for another wear at the office. Because its not really summery yet, I decided to pair this dress with my knit American flag crop top - to warm me up at work.

Has the ombre trend kicked-in in your country???

Curves Around The World: Week 18 - High Waisted

Heya, fabulous friends....

Its that time of the week again and I know how you have been waiting to see what we have in store for you this week. Our theme is High Wasted!!! Nice, right? Really, who doesn't love high waisted clothing items? They certainly give us shape and bring that womanly vava-voom.

I decided to wear my thrifted flowered high wasted boob tube dress. It is Spring and the weather is really warming up. So, this outfit was worn last Friday at work as you all know we always wear casual outfits on these days. This was my version of being casual at work. I really love this outfit: it is funky, playful and cute. Yes, I really am beautiful and I see that from these pictures.

I have been very busy at work last week as a result I have not been able to take decent pictures. I am just lucky to have these pictures because my colleagues like taking pictures of me even when we are working and I really don't mind them doing that as long as you can see REAL ME on these pictures with my entire attire clearly.

So, what do you think of my High Wasted Version? What is your favourite High Wasted item? Pants, Skirt or Dress - Or all of them, WHY NOT???

THRIFT HAUL: Double Breasted Knit

Good Afternoon my fabulous friends!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and hope your Monday is going well so far. Todays post is about a double breasted cardigan I thrifted on the street floors of Mt Fletcher - got it for R15 (~$2) yes, that much :)

Great thing about it is that it is as good as new - no stains or fluff balls just perfection!!! Lesson I am relaying today is that - the price tag don't matter especially when an item fits you well.

For me, nothing beats the joy I get when I score a great thrift item - I always think of how much I am saving by acquiring that fab item. What iskey for me when I thrift is to get items that are ready to be worn. I avoid items that require fixing before they can be worn. Ofcoz, that increases the value spent on that item and I don't want that and investment of more time - I know there are exceptional cases I might find myself doing exactly that. So, only then I'd bend my motto!!!

What is your thrifting strategy??

Graphic T-Shirt

Good Evening, y'all!!!

My previous post from this one for Curves Around the World is themed Print TShirt: so because the theme is for this entire week I thought I could share these photos that I took sometime back at work just before Spring started. On this day, it was chilly in the morning and by the time I took these pictures it was very hot as a result I already peeled all the layers I had on top. With me having peeled off other layers of clothing still left me with a palatable outfit. I love the contrast between the tshirt print and the stripes from the skirt.

What do you think???

Curves Around The World: Week 17 - Print T-Shirt

Good morning, ladies!!! Hope you are all alright.

I am sorry I have not been checking upon you this past week until now. I have been so busy at work and socially but right now Curves Around the World themed outfit series post has arrived and cant run away from it instead I need to deliver as I am sure you all have been waiting patiently.

This weeks theme is Print Tshirt which includes animated, worded etc kind of tshirts. I met up with Thandiwe Gxono (my friend) on Saturday and BOOM she was wearing a nice printed tshirt, all bright and enjoying spring weather. Her look inspired me to create this look which I wore yesterday at work because I needed to wear comfortable and relaxed clothes as the day was busy requiring lots of walking up and down and more sitting. I guess, my head was still stuck in Thandis outfit and the weekend, I just had to replicate it immediately.

Unfortunately I could not go all bright like Thandie as yesterday was only Tuesday: therefore an early day in the week to be wearing crazy bright colours when supposed to be in meetings all day with stakeholders from other institutions. Going all black with at least muted Mickey Mouse animation brought chicness and classiness especially had I been wearing high heeled sandals.

Have you tried animated or Worded Tshirts? What do you pair them with?

Vintage Part3

Good morning friends :)

Hope you all enjoying the weekend. This post is the last post on this week's vintage theme. My interpretation here was focussed more on ensembling a work outfit from a thrifted shirt. Having done the work outfit I kind wondered if the shirt could be dressed down for a relaxed comfy look for casual Fridays at work or even weekends. I experimented by adding up my Vans sneaks, sling bag and I think I achieved that. Having my Rayban Round Vintage John Lennon Sunglasses: I think seals the vintage deal of this look. What do you think???

MY TWIST (dressing down the shirt)

Sneaks will always be the bigger part of myself - they always get incorporated in my looks because I love comfy and understated looks
