Curves Around The World: DIY

Hello, Friends :)

Its 2014, yes 2014 and I hope you all have landed safely in this new year! I am still on holiday at my mom's place and it is still very nice to be away from work and just be busy with family and holiday matters.

This is the first post of Curves Around the World this year and the theme is DIY. Ever since our list completion for this round I have been very excited with this theme which was chosen by Nina my mate from our group. This happiness was stemming from the fact that I always tailor my items to fit me the way I need and therefore that means - most of my outfits are practically DIYed to suit my unique figure, lol :)

For this outfit - I am wearing a Boob Tube Dress which I worked on to have sleeves as the top hem was not tight enough to stay fixed in one place and for this I used a belt that came with the dress.
For the purpose of this theme, I am showcasing how I have turned a recently bought shirt into a vest and also show how I have ensembled an outfit with this repurposed shirt.

I love DIY projects because they allow me to be creative and have unique and interesting items. My DIY love extends to accessories as well. I love changing the ones I already own into something special for example, giving an ordinary bangle a new life by wrapping it in a fresh and colourful print that can be re peeled into original state of the bangle in future when one is tired of that print cover.

I like simple projects as I don't really have ample time to be exploring complicated ones.

How far do you go with DIY Projects??? Love them just like me? What is your latest creation?

Nautical First Attempt - Palesa Mahlaba

Hey guys!!!

Enjoying your Saturday so far??? Mine has been decent - I even had time for thrifting some accessories :)

As I promised from my previous posts - this is one of the posts that have delayed being posted. This specific post was an attempt to recreate Palesa Mahlaba's Outfit (True Love Magazine Editor) which I tried out with another dress here!!!!

I love the nautical or sailor inspired looks and I think ill be rocking them mostly this summer. As a plus size woman I think both my efforts are awesome and highly current and trendy. Yes, I love and believe in my style. Its fun, edgy, eclectic, quirky and super modern at times and vintagy!!! I am a mix of everything depending on my mood of cause :) Enough already about my style, lol!!!

Dig in folks and go nautical crazy this summer :)

Minnetonka Double Fringed Boots

 Good Evening, guys!!!

Just before changing my hair into my current fringed bob - I took many pictures that ill continue sharing here for you from my last red braids. I hope you wont mind seeing different styles posted one after the other. Its towards festive holidays and there is plenty to do at work and that keeps me from having regular posts for you but all of that will soon be sorted.

I bought a pair of Minnetonka Double Fringed boots during winter and I am surprised to realise they never made it to here. This is my first post wearing them. Our current weather is really weird and boring - I hate cold and rain and that's what has been happening over here even though its officially SUMMER. So, I wore this pair on a casual Friday at work as the weather was colder in the morning. I wanted to achieve that boho chic look I guess, cause I was wearing on of my tan fossils sling bags :)

Anywho, I had fun wearing them for the 4th time even when the sun shined brighter in the afternoon. Buying these shoes on line is such a pain because you get different reviews about them from one customer to the other. It is worse for me as I have funny issues with sizing. I am a size 5 especially for closed shoes and that changes with open shoes like sandals as I go for UK 5.5 or 6 depending on the fit and availability of the other. So, its stressful buying shoes in stores and much of a pain on line cause you are just risking it: hoping for the best as reviews from other confuse me enormously.

Short story is that - I am happy my heart told me to chose UK5 and its perfect on my perfect short foot, lol   :) These boots are comfy and stylish - it serve perfect versatility on any woman's closet. love them too much :)

If you are not currently owning a pair of Minnetonka - you are really missing out on great walking shoes to spice up your wardrobe. I urge you to reconsider, you wont regret :)

Yeah, its Minnetonka Baby *much love*

Curves Around The World: Week11 - Statement Earings

Good morning ladies!

Hope you are great today. It is that time of the week for themed outfits and this weeks theme is STATEMENT EARINGS. When I was planning outfits for this theme I was thinking I should go big on chandelier earings but dismissed that thought as I am fond of studs. I therefore decided to go bigger on studs as they are my favourite. I paired these dark green studs with my thrifted dress and bag and also added nude wedge heel pumps which I recently scored from Truworths sale.

Because the dress is an earthy statement: gold and brown accessories were thrown in the mix too. This ensemble screams sexy cocktails, I love it - what do you think???

What are your go to statement earings???

Earings: Mr Price, Dress and Bag: Thrifted, Shoes: Truworths, Bangles: Lovisa, MrPrice & Truworths, Watch: Guess, Belt: Woolworths
