Vintage Indulgence at Lehza Vintage

Good evening my fabulous ladies!

Tonight, I just want to share with you my little vintage bag collection from Lehza Vintage on Bid-or-Buy.  I bought all 5 bags I am showing you from her in July 2013. I first bought 3 and then 2. I never bought anything from bid-or-buy before and it was a lot of scare for me to eventually do it. I guess I was really worried of being scammed online or buy something that never gets delivered to me.

I learnt about bidorbuy from my bff Pumla Dlamini. She bought several vintage dresses on this site and had recommended me to check it out. Unfortunately the vintage dresses sold on bidorbuy hardly have plus sizes for thick ladies like me but when browsing through I really just got swoon into vintage bag collections and that's when I found Lehza Vintage collection and got into her world of fabulous vintage.

What I really like about her (Lehza) items is that they are clearly photographed in all angles and all defects found in her pieces are clearly explained and shown in her pictures. After months of checking out her vintage items I finally gave in last month and you know what? I am really giving myself a kick on my bum for not starting to buy from her earlier as she had many designer vintage bags I really liked which buy the time I started buying were sold out. Nevertheless, I am happy I am finally hooked. Really, what else can I say?

The first 3 bags I bought are bags that any working girl would appreciate having in their closet. Everyone is into Sling Bags currently and having vintage ones with perfect craftsmanship is always a bonus: I got 2 of those and the third one is a Patchwork top handle with a long strap to make it a sling whenever needed and this bag is an awesome some piece to have in my closet - love it too much than all others. The last 2 are the Gladstone Doctors Style handbag (a must have in any vintage queen's closet) and a shoulder bag.
Delivery
Lehza charges an affordable shipping fee which accommodates all items bought from her at that moment. She doesn't charge per item, which is great. Therefore, you can buy as much as you need and just pay R40 for all to be sent straight to you.

For me to receive my items it usually take 4 to 5 working days. I think it would be much nicer to have an option of overnight which one can pay extra for in cases of emergency where you would need an item urgently for events or something ... maybe this is already one of the things she is planning to have - it really would be awesome to have this service.

Communication with this lady is easy and she usually responds immediately to any enquiries forwarded to her, I love her so much for that. There's nothing much annoying and frustrating than talking to someone who careless to respond to you asap when you have concerns, panicking or have questions on the other side. So, with her its totally amazing - she is a fabulous seller I have come across and her items are much better in person than the descriptions she gives on her site.

Guys you really better check her out. At the bottom of this post ill leave all her links for you to check her out to support, support and support her. I am so obsessed with her site!!! Everyday I check it out before I sleep so that I don't miss on new fabulous vintage items she continuously adds. Due to my pro-activeness, on top of the 5 bags I am showing you: I have indulged on Givenchy earings and a Coach sling bag that I will reveal to you on my upcoming post about my Vintage Indulgence. I cant wait to receive both items :)

What is your take on pre-owned items??? What is your latest buy if you do indulge like me? If you don't do pre-owned: what are your reasons not to?

This is the lady behind the brand Lehza Vintage - this name is taken from her real name. She is Lehza van der Merwe. *Picture borrowed from her facebook page*

Black Leather Dilucio Designer Sling bag R149/AUD $16

Large Leather Patchwork Top Handle R199/AUD $22

Navy Leather Gladstone Doctors Style R120 / AUD $13

Tan Leather Shoulder bag R120 / AUD $13

Dark Brown leather sling bag R220 / AUD $24 (this is the expensive of them all)

All 5 vintage bags together: aren't they amazing??? I spent on all a shocking R770 PLUS R80 postage fee which all equals to R850/AUD $93 which I struggle to use for any decent leather bag from Country Road/The Leather Satchel Company/Michael Kors/Juicy Couture etc I own - This is PURE investment and luck to own such wonderful pieces.

You can get Lehza's Vintage Collection from the following BidorBuy and Lehza Vintage Facebook Page and also can get more of this fabulous lady on her blog page.

I really am happy I took the plunge to try out buying stuff online especially on bidorbuy and come across fabulous Lehza Vintage. With her accessories I can jazz up my collection of vintage apparel and happily call myself Vintage Queen, lol :)

Thank you in advance for visiting and for leaving a feedback for me. Thank you!

Enjoy your night my fabulous friends :)

Curves Around the World: Week14 - Floral

Morning, morning my fab readers!

Hope all is well with you all. Ever since my last post I have been going through a lot and that definately affected my activeness on this page but I am at least recovered from all of that. So, are you ready for me???

You better be :) cause that time of the week has arrived to showcase our Floral Theme for Curves Around the World plus size series. I am wearing my last year bought Asos skater dress and decided to toughen my look with a leather jacket and my yellow Docs. Because my Rock Chic outfit had no leather anything,lol... I have been kinda obsessed with my rock inspired items from my wardrobe ever since my last post!

When you look at my pics Am sure you would be able to tell I had plenty of fun taking all these pictures - my friend Thandiwe Gxono also enjoyed being the camera lady for the day. Thanx, Thandie :) I really love this look cause it screams relaxed and comfortable: I am a sucker for that. So, at the end of the day: it was mission accomplished!!!

What colour of florals are you rocking this Spring? I guess I am allowed to say its already Spring as Spring season starts in 3 days from today. The 1st of September is an official day here in South Africa to be considered the start of spring. I am happy for spring but really cant wait for summer, I love wearing relaxed outfits :)

Which season do you prefer and why?

Dress: Asos Curve, Jacket: Thrifted, Belt & Stockings: Woolworths, Boots: Dr Martens USA, Earings: Mr Price, Watch: Guess

It was windy and my dress was getting blown up my neck - this pic is taken in motion just after pulling the dress down trying to look decent for my pics once again - love love this pic...no clue why???

"Because my Katies Yellow Cardie was closeby when taking pictures I thought I'd take another version of pics with it - I totally think it works perfectly with other items worn: what do you think??"

Just the dress on its own with Fossil Slingbag!!!

"Dancing in the moonlight, lol"

Please check out my lovely and fabulous friends from around the globe how they have interpreted this week's Floral theme. It would be highly appreciated if you give us all some love and Subscribe, Subscribe and Subscribe.

Curves Around the World: Week 13 - Rock Chic

Hello, Hello.... Ladies!!!

Its that time of the week for the Curves Around the World themed outfit posts. Yes, this weeks theme is Rock Chic!!! I am sure when you hear Rock Chic - what comes to mind immediately is Leather, Chains, spikes, dark eyed makeup, Dr Martens, studs etc!!! All the things I mentioned toughen up the outfit and gives it that edge that makes Rock Chic, ROCKS :)

I have a couple of Leather pieces, Doctors Martens and surely can darken my eye makeup, lol but that's kinda expected right? What triggered my thinking to be on that wave length is coming across Rihanna on some blog I visited where they focussed more on her converse hi top sneakers and when looking at her all I could see was a simple take on Rock Chic trend. With just those two pieces of clothing (dress and sneakers) and her red lip - she was effortlessly on point with this ROCK CHIC trend.

This picture kinda gave me an idea of items I should use to create this look. At first I wanted to recreate this entire look as I have similar items but opted to use a black dress instead of Rihanna's white one because my focal item was my recently bought Marimekko Converse Sneaks which make a better contrast with this black dress compared to a white one. A maxi dress was my order of the day: so, wearing only this maxi dress with hi tops would have not given me the effect I was looking for - adding up my gold studded denim vest made sense on many levels to take me Rock Chic land, if you know what I mean :)

I sprinkled some gold accessories (watch and bangles),  added red lip and my big Green Statement Earings to perfect this outfit. You all can agree with me that "A lady is incomplete without a handbag"! Right?? Yeah ... Right!!! So my Lehza Vintage brown sling bag came to play to complete this outfit. I know what you all thinking - that I have been carrying this bag quite a lot on my recent posts but what can I do when this bag just blends perfectly with my everyday outfits??? LOL ... I really am happy to have bought this bag its really perfect for my day to day activities at work and other wise. It looks small but it definitely does carry my notebook and my ipad with my wallet, car keys and makeup just perfectly. I hope my justification carries a lot of weight and you are finally forgiving me for this offence :)

So, dig in, indulge and definitely give feedback on your thoughts about my Rock Chic look. I look cute and  sassy - I really did enjoy taking these pictures, I know you will enjoy looking at them too and also agree that my version still qualifies my look to be called ROCK CHIC... ROCK ON LADIES :)

Rihanna rocking ROCK CHIC trend!!!

OOTD: Monday Workwear Outfit

Good evening, Ladies!!!

You all know how I feel about Monday Outfits for work, I believe that everyone should make an effort and look pazzaz, lol! Come on, set the tone for the week! Don't get me wrong I care of how I look every single day but Mondays are just "very special" compared to other days that's why I make such a fuss, ensuring that Perfect Monday Outfits are my SOPs (Standard Operation Procedure).

My work outfit is made out by a recently thrifted pink pin striped shirt by  Ralph Lauren, dress bought in Target two years ago, belt and shoes bought from Woolworths. The Sling bag is from Lehza Vintage and I had a black trench coat on top as it is still chilly.

Do you  have a similar style motto in your life? What is it?

Dress: Target, Shirt (Ralph Lauren): Thrifted,  Belt and Shoes: Woolworths,  Bag: Lehza Vintage, Earrings: Mr Price

Elie Saab: Le Parfum Review

Morning to all of you fab ladies!

On this post I promised that I would start doing fragrance reviews on perfumes I own so that I can build and sharpen my reviewal writing skills for future reviews on other perfumes. So, this review is my first one. It really has taken me 9days to really have guts to get my head around this. So, this one is the first of many to come.

I kind of brainstormed before writing this, to just think of all the important things I normally consider important before buying a perfume besides the fact that it smells good. So the things ill be touching on are Longevity (how long does it last after spraying) and sillage (scent left behind by perfume usually after having passed some people or leaving a room). I will also talk about main notes in the composition of this perfume.

When I was staying Australia in 2011 I went to Myers for a refill for my D&G Light Blue bottle and when making that purchase - the assistant who was helping me asked if I wanted a samples of Elie Saab Le Parfum and Gucci Guilty Intense to try on. I said yeah, why not! I immediately threw them in my bag and continued with my shopping. I did the same when arriving home - threw them amongst my beauty routine stuff.

One day after having moved houses early 2012, it was weekend and I was just at home continuing with packing and tiding up my home when I came across these samples. I remembered I never really sprayed or even sniffed any of them and I just had to try one and Le Parfum was the choice of the day. I sprayed once at the back of my hand. At first the smell was nice but too strong for me.

Immediately after spraying I could pick up the notes of honey and some orangy accords. After few hours when the perfume has dried out I could smell patchouli but minimally and only at that moment I could appreciate Le Parfum smell. I continued wearing this perfume until the sample was finished and unfortunately I could not buy any bottle from Le Parfum size range. I continued using my own perfumes but could not let go of the empty sample bottle. I would sniff and smell the bottle but promising myself that one day I will get myself a bottle but when the time is right :)

Whilst doing my shopping in Kokstad Royalts Mall. I went to Edgars beauty section to buy my Clinique facial products and I saw Elie Saab bottle looking at me. All the good memories of me using the sample and loving its smell and longevity came rushing back and I could not leave this bottle behind. I went for a 90ml bottle because I going for the bigger bottle is kinda my thing, lol ... to be serious its because buying a bigger one makes sense especially knowing I wont outgrow liking that specific scent. I call it or rather consider it an investment more than anything, I am allowed to be crazy sometimes, lol ... once in a while especially buying things close to my heart :)

Nothing has changed from that sample bottle to this actual Le Parfum - I only make 2 sprays one on each side of the neck and im done with this perfume. Immediately after spraying the smell can put you off because it is very strong: moreover if you don't like sweet florally smells. The sillage  is strong as well but after drying out the smell becomes tolerable and very inviting to people around you.

This perfume stays for many hours on my skin as a result I don't even spray again to revive the scent. I am not even the person who carries a perfume in my purse when going to work, I guess that comes from the type of perfumes I buy. If the perfume doesn't stay longer on me I don't usually bother buying it because I see re-spraying as a waste of the product as these bottles come with high price tags. When getting one, it is always nice to know you are getting the value of your money from the product with its high quality and effectiveness.

Sillage is too strong and can be too much to people around when in closed areas especially in the first 2 or 3 hours of spraying. As the day progress it is highly appreciated by many of my friends and colleagues. For me as well I appreciate the smell more after 3 hours of spraying and I think its the patchouli that I love from most of my fragrances that sparkles something within me with this perfume.

I have used this perfume both in cold and warm and I love it more when it is warmer or hotter. There is something that must be happening with the chemistry of my skin because when it is hot - it is like when my body gets heated up he same happens to the fragrance as well because the sillage becomes way better and the more I smell roses more. Some of the notes said to be in this product I kind of miss them when the perfume is worn on a cold day - don't know why is this. Could be my strange body chemistry with the fragrance. For me its good for both Winter and Summer, regardless.

TOP NOTES: African Orange Flower
MIDDLE NOTES: Jasmine
BASE NOTES:  Patchouli, Virginia Cedar, White Honey, Rose

So, that's it folks: ill try to shorten the review next time because right now it is longer than I planned. Have you used Le Parfum before? What is your own experience with this product? If not, looking at the composition notes: are they appealing to your eye or relate to perfumes you currently use? My advice is to try the perfume first before investing in a bottle: if it is a gift - well, hard luck!!!
This is how Elie Saab - Le Parfum looks like

This is what the bottle can do as it has a baroque architectural design. The bottle is rather heavy or maybe it is because its a 90ml, what do you think? The design is ok nothing really special to me. If you think other wise you can leave me and my readers your views on this and convince us how beautiful you this bottle is.

Le Parfum comes in 30, 50 and 90mls. Also have a range of deodorants, body lotion, shower gel and body creams you can definitely explore. It may be cheaper to buy the perfume coming with all these as a set because individually they cost a fortune.

This perfume was launched in 2011 and the model featured on this campaign is Anja Rubik. She is the lady you see above in the picture strutting in a beautiful gown.

I hope you can all see my bottle of Le Parfum amongst my other bottles (between flower bomb and burberry weekend). I bought the 90mls bottle for R1500 which is $149 US Dollars/ $160 Aussie Dollars.

Thank you for visiting and reading this post. I would appreciate your feedback because I love hearing from you too to make this page a better one for all of us.

Cheers,

TRUE LOVE MAGAZINE: Maxi Skirt Inspiration

Good Afternoon my Fabulous Ladies!!!

I really say: TGIF! This week has really dragged to come to today even though I don't have anything special planned for the weekend, I was really eager for the weekend to come. I guess I just love knowing it is weekend as most people working are having a break from work and therefore stand a chance of meeting up with them than during the week.

Todays post is totally inspired by True Love Magazine feature of Maxi Skirts on fully figured women (August Issue: page 35-36). It was focussed more on how we could dress up Maxi Skirts and most importantly what we could pair them with. They showed a variety of examples and because it is Friday and I usually have casual Fridays at work - I opted to give the sweatshirt combo with maxi skirt a try because it is relaxed and comfy. Taking this ensemble to another level I added up heeled pumps as they have shown in this issue.

I am tote amazed by these pictures. Love how the pink heel pops and how it matches up with pink from the sweatshirt. I could have added a collared shirt underneath the sweatshirt as they have shown on the magazine but its warmer today - so I decided not to. I am really SOLD on this look and I think I will be doing another Maxi Skirt Look very soon.

Thank you True Love Magazine for being such an inspiration - I really love your magazine especially the section for REAL WOMAN because it caters for us plus sized ladies to receive practical tips on how to experiment on emerging fashion trends with ease. I love dressing up and your contribution towards this is highly appreciated :)

What are your thoughts? Do you feel this sporty chic inspired look?

On my lips I am wearing: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Smitten #30. Really stays longer on my lips and leaves lips moisturised and soft :)

Skirt: Thrifted, Sweatshirt: Mr Price, Earings: Foschini, Shoes: Woolworths, Bag: Lehza Vintage

Thank you for visiting and for leaving a feedback behind for me. I really love hearing from you too.

Enjoy your weekend my fabulous people!

Cheers for now...

Love,
