Curves Around The World: GRUNGE

Good Evening my Fabulous Friends!!!

Its been a very long time since I last posted this is due to travelling I embarked on during this festive season and coming back to work. I think I have settled in not to miss any posts as this post is overdue and I apologise for the lack of consistency.

This posts theme is GRUNGE and if you were born before OR during 80s you will remember this kind of style as we wore many flannel shirts and doctor marten boots to spice up this look.

Many confuse punk with grunge forgetting that “Punk was antifashion,” and therefore was there to make a statement. Grunge was not about making a statement, which is why it’s crazy for it to have become a fashion statement. I am glad it did though, lol :)

The year fashion co-opted grunge in 1993 - Jean Paul Gaultier told Vogue  - grunge is nothing more than the way we dress when we have no money and that grunge has grown from the raw, messy scene surrounding the raw, messy sound—produced by a bedraggled pack of flannel-clad Pacific Northwest dropouts—that was suddenly the talk of the fashion establishment.

In my higher primary an high school GRUNGE was my staple fashion style and when looking around these days grunge is more polished up than before and that's the route I took for my outfit tonight. I think id call it Modernised Grunge or Grunge Chic ok, what ever relevant name you can give it. I am sure you get what I am trying to say here.

Now that you are probably in your 30s would you probably try this childhood fashion??? I like playing with my clothes and exploring styles and I think I can get used to this style on daily basis - pity I work in a serious environment :(

Whats your view on GRUNGE???

Curves Aroun the World: Week 19 - SEQUINS

Good morning, y'all!!!

Sequins theme for this weeks Curves Around the World has just arrived and happened. Since I am not a fan of sequins I really was scratching my head for this one because I have no sequined items in my closet at all. I thought I would buy a top or dress just to make this post possible - ran around looking came back tired with no luck. NO LUCK AT ALL :)

Few days ago whilst resting in my room my eyes met up with this sequined beret from my hat stand and whoallaaaaaa an idea immediately came :) I bought this beret this previous winter at Mr Price with another sequined navy one. Thought id wear them during winter just to familiarise myself with sequins as I own none in my closet at the moment. I had so many ideas as this beret is my focal point for todays post  but I ended up with this version: which I hope is appealing to you as it does for me.

I paired  this outfit with my recent buy *fashion world Spring Dress* - All other items worn are just thrown in to spice up and jazz up my outfit. I am pleased with this outfit. Hope you as well!!!

Are you the Queen of Sequins? Why? What do you usually wear them with??? What is your recent sequin buy?

Wish id continued taking pics in my office with my phone - they are so clear and much nicer I think!!!

Curves Around the World: Week14 - Floral

Morning, morning my fab readers!

Hope all is well with you all. Ever since my last post I have been going through a lot and that definately affected my activeness on this page but I am at least recovered from all of that. So, are you ready for me???

You better be :) cause that time of the week has arrived to showcase our Floral Theme for Curves Around the World plus size series. I am wearing my last year bought Asos skater dress and decided to toughen my look with a leather jacket and my yellow Docs. Because my Rock Chic outfit had no leather anything,lol... I have been kinda obsessed with my rock inspired items from my wardrobe ever since my last post!

When you look at my pics Am sure you would be able to tell I had plenty of fun taking all these pictures - my friend Thandiwe Gxono also enjoyed being the camera lady for the day. Thanx, Thandie :) I really love this look cause it screams relaxed and comfortable: I am a sucker for that. So, at the end of the day: it was mission accomplished!!!

What colour of florals are you rocking this Spring? I guess I am allowed to say its already Spring as Spring season starts in 3 days from today. The 1st of September is an official day here in South Africa to be considered the start of spring. I am happy for spring but really cant wait for summer, I love wearing relaxed outfits :)

Which season do you prefer and why?

Dress: Asos Curve, Jacket: Thrifted, Belt & Stockings: Woolworths, Boots: Dr Martens USA, Earings: Mr Price, Watch: Guess

It was windy and my dress was getting blown up my neck - this pic is taken in motion just after pulling the dress down trying to look decent for my pics once again - love love this pic...no clue why???

"Because my Katies Yellow Cardie was closeby when taking pictures I thought I'd take another version of pics with it - I totally think it works perfectly with other items worn: what do you think??"

Just the dress on its own with Fossil Slingbag!!!

"Dancing in the moonlight, lol"

Please check out my lovely and fabulous friends from around the globe how they have interpreted this week's Floral theme. It would be highly appreciated if you give us all some love and Subscribe, Subscribe and Subscribe.

AT LAST: FLOWERY FRIDAY :)

Good evening guys :)

I am happy I am writing this post because I have a couple of pictures to share with you on what really happened the previous weekend BUT this post is about my Friday outfit.

I bought this spiked up jacket during Mr Price challenge and everytime I wear it I dont seem to remember taking pictures to share with you. I was really begining to think that this jacket is cursed or has some kind of bad spell on it. Lol ....

Ok, on this very friday I was just very lucky I remembered to take some when I visited the switchboard office on my way out for the weekend. I asked an old lady whom I care and adore so much to help out. She had some challenges focussing the camera as a result I ended up with blurry pictures and the ones accompanying this post.

Regardless, I love these pictures because I  have accomplished my mission to share a picture with this fabulous jacket and I think it blended well with my floral Pick'nPay dress.

What do you think???
