Curves Around the World: Feminine Meets Masculine

 Good Morning, Friends!!!

It's a Sunday Morning and have not been able to sleep. I hope I do get an opportunity to thoroughly rest during the day. I would not want to start a week with a tired body. A week can be very long. Would never survive until next Friday.
Insomnia is a bitch. Excuse my language :)

It is Curves Around the World post - the theme this week is Feminine meets Masculine. This means I need to create one outfit with elements from both feminine and masculine world. To simplify this more for you: it means - I am suppose to wear what I usually wear as a lady but add a masculine piece in the mix as part of the outfit. It doesn't matter what I decide to throw in: it could be a shirt, blazer, boots etc from the men's world.

So, my translation for this theme is: I decided to choose one piece, a classic plaid vintage dress as a focus. Moreover, I created two outfits to show you how I'd usually wear this dress as a lady that I am, lol. I dressed it up with heels, belted and buttoned it up. It really is a beautiful outfit.

For what was required for this challenge: I added a stoned wash denim vest on top of this dress, chain neckpiece, replaced heels with dr martens boots and added a hat to spice things up. As you can see: I did not only wear one masculine piece. I decided to wear more pieces to take this outfit to the streets. This ensemble has 80's Rock flair, Grunge finesse and every tinge of style men are associated with.

I look like an artist y'all - attending a music festival - lol. I look amazing if I were to compliment myself :) Agree, agree? Am sure you do :)

Looking at both outfits - id consider choosing the second one: because it is more comfortable, accessible and more of my daily style. Comfort comes first but I ensure I clean up nicely and remain stylish overall.

Which one is your favourite? How would you have dressed up or down this amazing vintage dress with man pieces added? Did I do justice transforming this item to a different style from the classic look with heels? Please respond to these questions, I like hearing from you. Your feedback is highly valued. I also need to learn from you.

 Lets share ideas. Thanks :)

Curves Around The World: CLUTCH BAG

Good Morning, Friends!!!

The festive season is heating up and going to work these days just doesn't make sense at all. Its a pity for people like me cause the only time ill join my family is around the 23rd December 2013. Until then, I just have to hang in there :)

This weeks Curves Around the World theme is CLUTCH BAG!!! This is one theme that is really not talking to me - I mostly carry sling bags and most of them are not even easy to convert into clutch bags. Clutch bags I have are very small and meant for formal events so, thinking of using them for this specific post was just out of question only because these days I am less motivated to really dress up as all I am thinking about is my departure to home.

Below is a picture of me in just the only clutch that is decent enough for me carry with my current unmotivated outfits. This picture is actually extracted from our first ever theme ANIMAL PRINT - check more pictures and read that post here.

Today, I decided to chop all my hair down because I was due for another hairdo and I just opted to go natural and NO REGRETS so far :)

I changed into a thrifted sweater later because the weather got more cooler than during the day.

Its unfortunate that I left the clutch I have shown you at my mothers house from my last visit and for this theme I used my Chanel Double Flap Bag as a clutch. I made short the hardware sling and tucked it inside to be able to carry it as a clutch. Whoalla, a lady needs to be creative in crisis situations and I am happy I did just that with the help of my work security guards on my way home (ONE OF THEM TOOK MY PICTURES and im so thankful). Desperate times call for desperate measures :)

Curves Around The World - Steal Her Style

Good Morning, fabulous friends!!!

Curves Around the World is formed by a group of 5 ladies located all over the world. We do themed outfits every week and we are all plus sized sisters celebrating our fabulous curves.

For this week, we thought it would be nice to steal each others style for change and see what one comes up with. So, this weeks theme is STEAL HER STYLE!!!

I am stealing Aislynn's Style this week. She is from Denmark. According to me - Aisylnn's Style is Glam, Classy, Simple and Chic. Her looks always have clean lines and she is a lover of accessories (neckpieces and bracelets) but she goes for the understated pieces that definately catch your eye. She does wear color (I have seen her in RED and in GREEN) and looks gorgeous in them. My choice of dress came from her love of colour and accessories came from her great eye & taste for jewellery!!!

My translation of her style has been challenging because I go all out most of the time but it has been fun to attempt her style. I did not take a specific outfit she wore and replicate it - what I did is try to feature most of the elements of her style in this outfit. I hope you see her style in my outfit.

I wore this outfit to a wedding last weekend and had a blast showing it off. I hope my inspiration of her style translated well and yes, please check her style here to decide if I have done a great job or not.

Curves Around the World: PLAID/TARTAN

Hello, my fabulous friends!!!

PLAID, PLAID, PLAID ... Some call it Tartan - This is one of the trends that are going strong all over the world currently and its not different here in South Africa. As a result its difficult to get decent pieces with ease :(

This weeks Curves Around the World theme is the famous PLAID. You have already guessed it, right??? I love this trend as it is versatile in every persons wardrobe. So, for this challenge I have worn my PLAID VEST and  paired it with thrifted sweat pants -- which fit me as leggings, lol ....

As you can see: I have great love for my electric blue shoes and bag :) I am a guilty accessories repeater, forgive me guys :) We don't buy things to wear them once do we??? lol

I am really pushing it with this outfit, I have a crop top showing my tummy, peg leg sweat pant or must I say LEGGINGS??? Anywho, I think my outfit is perfect!!! My hair is also absolutely bangin :)

Have you tried the plaid trend??? If not, id advise that you should - it really is fun and versatile. Try all nice colours. Mix with prints, polka dots, animal print, bold bright colours and see where plaid takes you. In short, have fun with it :)

What do you think of my outfit???

Curves Around the World: Girls Night Out

Hello, ladies!!!

Girls Night Out - yes, that's the theme for Curves Around the World for this week. I love Girls Night Outs because all they are filled with is happiness, updates about each others lives, naughtiness :) yes, naughtiness - flirting, dancing and glasses of whatever one feels like drinking. I always don't know what to expect when I go out with my friends cause we all have interesting characters - good thing is that when we do go out - We know how to have fun :)

I bought this swing dress from Asos last year and I have worn it twice and when I do wear it, I always wear it with stockings because it is a bit short and the weather is always a bit chilly.

Next time when I go out with my girls I am planning to wear this dress without stockings. Its spring and soon will be summer: come on, I cant be burning myself because I have to cover up.

I know, I am FAT but seriously sometimes I need a break from everyone and everything reminding me of FAT DONT's!!! Cant one just be free for a day and/or night, really? When it comes to such rules - I totally switch off and shutdown - I become totally rebellious and ensure to prove a point afterwards by challenging myself to show whoever interested that actually, it is ok not to comply.

I had a little challenge for myself today - I challenged my self to take pictures with this dress and actually write this post for everyone in the whole world to see that " it actually is ok, to be imperfect sometimes and not be too serious about things and just live and enjoy the moment: cause to be honest few people might notice you anyway - people are busy with their own issues.

You can call it justification but I call it self love cause "my fatness doesn't define me instead its part of me" and I am IN CHARGE. Enough about me, your turn :)

Whats  you ideal outfit for going out at night with the girls???
