Curves Around the World: Straight Size Only

Afternoon, Friends!!!

Today's post is exciting - me and my gals from Curves Around the World group have decided to scout for items and looks created only for slim bodies. We need to recreate them with what exists in our closets. What we have can be from a straight size range or plus size as long as we capture the looks created for slim ladies.
So, our theme is STRAIGHT SIZE ONLY!!!

I saw a beautiful Skater Dress at Asos by Karen Millen. It reminded me of a dress I bought on sale at Fashion World last year. I never wore this dress let alone post pictures here on this page. So, this was a perfect way of dusting it up and celebrate its amazing animal print and fit. It is also from a straight size range and its a size 42/18.

I think I nailed this challenge as both outfits look most similar. I carried a sling bag instead of a clutch because I don't really like clutch bags. What do you think? I am a knockout, aren't I? LOL.....

Enjoy and please leave feedback for me :)

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Curves Around the World: Feminine Meets Masculine

 Good Morning, Friends!!!

It's a Sunday Morning and have not been able to sleep. I hope I do get an opportunity to thoroughly rest during the day. I would not want to start a week with a tired body. A week can be very long. Would never survive until next Friday.
Insomnia is a bitch. Excuse my language :)

It is Curves Around the World post - the theme this week is Feminine meets Masculine. This means I need to create one outfit with elements from both feminine and masculine world. To simplify this more for you: it means - I am suppose to wear what I usually wear as a lady but add a masculine piece in the mix as part of the outfit. It doesn't matter what I decide to throw in: it could be a shirt, blazer, boots etc from the men's world.

So, my translation for this theme is: I decided to choose one piece, a classic plaid vintage dress as a focus. Moreover, I created two outfits to show you how I'd usually wear this dress as a lady that I am, lol. I dressed it up with heels, belted and buttoned it up. It really is a beautiful outfit.

For what was required for this challenge: I added a stoned wash denim vest on top of this dress, chain neckpiece, replaced heels with dr martens boots and added a hat to spice things up. As you can see: I did not only wear one masculine piece. I decided to wear more pieces to take this outfit to the streets. This ensemble has 80's Rock flair, Grunge finesse and every tinge of style men are associated with.

I look like an artist y'all - attending a music festival - lol. I look amazing if I were to compliment myself :) Agree, agree? Am sure you do :)

Looking at both outfits - id consider choosing the second one: because it is more comfortable, accessible and more of my daily style. Comfort comes first but I ensure I clean up nicely and remain stylish overall.

Which one is your favourite? How would you have dressed up or down this amazing vintage dress with man pieces added? Did I do justice transforming this item to a different style from the classic look with heels? Please respond to these questions, I like hearing from you. Your feedback is highly valued. I also need to learn from you.

 Lets share ideas. Thanks :)

Curves Around the World: Lazy Sundays Outfit

Hi, guys!
I am back in blogger-ville world. Yay!
My life is so busy ever since I relocated to Johannesburg. That is NOT AN EXCUSE it is just a statement acknowledging my current situation.  I love blogging and I don’t wanna give up doing it especially now that I am blessed with a photographer. So, no ways I am giving it up. I am NOT giving it up AT ALL!!! I will just make an effort to at least post as regular as possible i.e. weekly.
This week’s theme is Lazy Sunday and what jumps to my mind is “easy and comfortable”. I love easy and comfortable outfits over weekends actually everyday of the week J I hate being uncomfortable, its irritating. Who doesn’t anyway?
So, for this task I have ensembled an outfit I would wear going to the mall for groceries or going for lunch with friends. It is casual, easy and stylish. If I was lazing around at home this would not be the same picture ofcoz, hahahaha. Id be wearing more of a loose dress and comfy under wear so that I enjoy my relaxation time J

What is your weekend rather lazy Sunday wear? Pyjamas? Lol, im guilty of them for some of my weekends.

Curves Around The World: DIY

Hello, Friends :)

Its 2014, yes 2014 and I hope you all have landed safely in this new year! I am still on holiday at my mom's place and it is still very nice to be away from work and just be busy with family and holiday matters.

This is the first post of Curves Around the World this year and the theme is DIY. Ever since our list completion for this round I have been very excited with this theme which was chosen by Nina my mate from our group. This happiness was stemming from the fact that I always tailor my items to fit me the way I need and therefore that means - most of my outfits are practically DIYed to suit my unique figure, lol :)

For this outfit - I am wearing a Boob Tube Dress which I worked on to have sleeves as the top hem was not tight enough to stay fixed in one place and for this I used a belt that came with the dress.
For the purpose of this theme, I am showcasing how I have turned a recently bought shirt into a vest and also show how I have ensembled an outfit with this repurposed shirt.

I love DIY projects because they allow me to be creative and have unique and interesting items. My DIY love extends to accessories as well. I love changing the ones I already own into something special for example, giving an ordinary bangle a new life by wrapping it in a fresh and colourful print that can be re peeled into original state of the bangle in future when one is tired of that print cover.

I like simple projects as I don't really have ample time to be exploring complicated ones.

How far do you go with DIY Projects??? Love them just like me? What is your latest creation?
