Curves Around The World: Collars

Good Evening, guys :)

Its Curves Around The World time  and this time around we are rocking them COLLARS, lol!!!

I really wanted to wear a shirt for this challenge as I don't wear enough of them due to not being comfortable wearing them most of the time.

Would have really loved to rock that closed up Collared Shirt with a statement neckpiece look - I didn't, I guess I need to really push myself next time. I just have issues with too much serious looks and collared clothing brings that for me. I may be paranoid but I think, its so not me .... I am all about comfort first and then being stylish within my Smart Casual Style.

It may sound as if I hate collars but in actual fact I really do love them in Jackets, though and shirt dresses. For this challenge my Collar comes from the denim vest.

The weather is still hot and all I wear currently are Maxi Dresses and more maxi dresses. This time around its no different, I rocked my Maxi at work on Friday with my collared vest and sandals and I honestly think its a winning outfit :)

Do you love collars and rock them often??? In what form do you like them?

Curves Around The World: DIY

Hello, Friends :)

Its 2014, yes 2014 and I hope you all have landed safely in this new year! I am still on holiday at my mom's place and it is still very nice to be away from work and just be busy with family and holiday matters.

This is the first post of Curves Around the World this year and the theme is DIY. Ever since our list completion for this round I have been very excited with this theme which was chosen by Nina my mate from our group. This happiness was stemming from the fact that I always tailor my items to fit me the way I need and therefore that means - most of my outfits are practically DIYed to suit my unique figure, lol :)

For this outfit - I am wearing a Boob Tube Dress which I worked on to have sleeves as the top hem was not tight enough to stay fixed in one place and for this I used a belt that came with the dress.
For the purpose of this theme, I am showcasing how I have turned a recently bought shirt into a vest and also show how I have ensembled an outfit with this repurposed shirt.

I love DIY projects because they allow me to be creative and have unique and interesting items. My DIY love extends to accessories as well. I love changing the ones I already own into something special for example, giving an ordinary bangle a new life by wrapping it in a fresh and colourful print that can be re peeled into original state of the bangle in future when one is tired of that print cover.

I like simple projects as I don't really have ample time to be exploring complicated ones.

How far do you go with DIY Projects??? Love them just like me? What is your latest creation?

Ombre Oxblooded Maxi Dress

Good Evening ... ladies!!!

I have been seeing some ombre maxi dresses in stores and on the streets of Mzansi - some are nicer than others. Whilst enjoying these scenes, I remembered that over the past few years I also invested in an ombre maxi that I buried eversince last summer - I hunted down for this dress from my closet for another wear at the office. Because its not really summery yet, I decided to pair this dress with my knit American flag crop top - to warm me up at work.

Has the ombre trend kicked-in in your country???

Tropical Punch

  Afternoon, Ladies!!!

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday.

There is not much story behind todays post, I am just sharing one of last weeks outfits worn at work on a chilly day. Just woke up on this day feeling happy. Due to that I ended up mixing all these colourful items together and whoallaaaa, I had this tropical punch outfit, hehehehehe!!! Really, who said we cant wear colourful clothes in winter? My outfit is a testimony that we can brighten up the gloomy winter by wearing any colourful clothes!!!

My outfits are always playful and full of colour and I just love that because they are a reflection of myself on many levels. Bought my Juicy Couture bag in 2011 to carry my school books and right now I am definitely carrying it to work throwing in everything you can think of - for example I carry my iPad, Laptop, diary, makeup bag and other things ladies throw in their bag - fortunately this bag is big enough to handle all this craziness :)

I have been thrifting lately and my outfits posts are bound to have a thing or two from the thrift store. For example on this post my colourful Marks and Spencer cardigan has been thrifted a week ago and loved it the minute I laid eyes on it. It feels good to look great and be complimented on items that cost close to nothing compared to fully price new items. That inspires me to get more, I am telling you :)

Do you ever thrift? What is your recent thrifted item? Have you posted anything on your blog about it so we can check it out??? If yes, please leave your blog link alongside with your feedback so we can check it.

Mohawked RockStar

Hey Fabulous Ladies!
Firstly, I would like to apologise for this post's pictures. They are not as clear as the pictures I normally put up on this blog page. This is due to the fact that, the pictures were taken using my blackberry phone instead of Sony Camera. I love these pictures regardless, thats why I thought I should share them with all of you.
I wokeup on this day in a happy mood and that contributed to my mohawk hairstyling for the day. It was a warm and windy day that required a simple and light outfit without much effort and my today's outfit post is exactly my translation of that. So, i have nailed this outfit :)
I mostly like short dresses than long dresses. Maxi dresses are something I mostly avoid due to my short height and too much bottom thickness. This usual results in me hating everything I see when I look in the mirror. What I usually see, is too much wideness around my hips, big bum, big stomach and dwarfism. That makes me panick and change outfits one after the other until i get something that marries the inner me. Then I continue with my activities.
Am sure you all asking why the fuss, I should not care and all but I 100% care. This is because I fear being loooked at and have people judge me. I am a confident person in general and that usually helps as I tackle every issue as they come..
So, on this day the negative energy was not strong enough to discourage me not to wear my Purple Maxi. I managed to see all the good things thus you see this post right now.
When a small devilish voice whisper in my head and try to convince me that I am not beautiful. In these situations, all I do is always to immediately look at my positive message topics (hung on my headbord) with words like Beautiful, Smart, Confident, Hardworker, Active, ChangeAgent, Strong etc. Moreover, I play a dance song and just sing, dance and jump around. Negative vibes immediately vanish and my day is back to normal happy mood. This usually works and dont need more therapeutic services.
Fabulous ladies, how do you cope with negativity when it crops up trying to spoil your mood any day??? Please share your opinions Thank you..
