Epauletted Orange Crop Jacket

Hi, again Fabulous Ladies!!!

Immediately after returning from Australia during summer I noticed that my bigger sister had this beautiful orange jacket which she bought from one of the West African shops in our town, Fort Beaufort. I had to make a deal with her as I could not get mine as the jackets were out of stock when we visited the same shop. It occurred that she had been eyeing a nice colourful summer dress in Woolworths but still budgeting to get it. So, I offered to buy her the dress which was much more expensive than this wonderful jacket in exchange. Nevertheless, I didnt care about the price of her dress as I was gonna get my perfect jacket and she is my sister. So, both parties were happy after the smooth exchange.

Looking at these pictures, I dont regret at all that I pursuid her and traded for something more expensive than the jacket. Getting perfectly fitting jackets is always a hustle for my body shape. I have a small top body against a much bigger bottom. The normal jackets I generally bump into, always make me look bigger and that is an illusion I dont want. If the jacket starts to cover my bum then I run for my life. Besides all that, I have big arms which also contribute to this hardship to locate a perfectly fitting jacket.

My Tips if you are expiriencing the same: I look for stretchy materials, something that hits my waist and not go beyond - if it does, it should be just a lil.  I dont mind if the jacket doesnt really close in front sometimes but it should at list be coming closer to the sternum area because you dont want to be walking around looking like an idiot if it doesnt cover half of your breast area. I also like cropped armed jackets, as a result most of the time I even go to an extent of cutting long sleeves into cropped length or send them to a tailor to cut for me. In my mind there is a stamp that says: I look better in cropped arms, lol.

This specific jacket, satisfies all my requirements and more. I like the colour against my skin and its brightness really lifts my mood.

One big problem I have about this outfit are my shoes. Im normally a flat shoe person exclusively. Ok, it used to be like that. I have just started experimenting with high heeled wedge shoes and still planning to explore high heeled pumps and all that is available in stores. I feel like, if I was wearing a classic high heeled black pump, this outfit could have been perfect. I guess, for now I have to appreciate my ensemble and continue taking baby steps into the world of Heeled Shoes.

What is your idea/opinion of a perfect shoe for this outfit? also, What are your tips to get a perfectly fitting jacket?

Polka - Black and White Cardi

Hello, hello ... my Thick Fit n Fabulous Ladies!!!

Cant believe that February ran fast than I anticipated. I have seriously been consumed with my work work work .... As a result, I have taken few pictures since my last post. and I havent been posting something too as time was very scarce. I guess its thanx to my ridiculously high workload.

Looking at my pictures that I have been taking eversince the last post, I have noticed that I have been a polka dot gal for the past month. Every week, I definately had an item or two of polka. Im highlighting this because POLKA is my love and animal print!!!

Another weird issue is that we are already suposed to wear cardies due to cold winter that decided to come early this year... What is going on with South African weather really?

Monday: a day to dress up!!! Why not with POLKA DOT???

This is my monday outfit of the day. I decided to wear my polka dot dress. Adding accesories to it was easy. Now I would like to know what you think of my entire outfit. Is it a Yay or a Nay???

The Classic Denim Jacket spicing up Thrifted T-shirt Dress

Jean Jackets are everywear this season not that they have been out but they have made a come back with a storm especially the rock star denim vest (which i have already made a post about here http://thickfitandfabulous.blogspot.com/2013/02/loxion-kulture-denim-vest.html) shirts and  crop denim jackets. I happen to own quite a few of them (classic denim jackets) but I have just added the collarless classic jacket to my collection, yey!!!!

I was going to work on thursday the 7th February 2013 and I decided to wear my thrifted colourful t-shirt dress. Because I did not want my outfit to be too formal, I just threw my denim jacket on and it really worked its magic and yet I was not too casual either. Mission was accomplished because I was really pleased with the results.

I am sure you are all givin a NOD to this wonderful ensemble :)

Animal Instinct

Anything animal print drives me crazy... I have too much love for all different shades of a leopard print ... this has to be my favorate print in the universe. Whilst passing time waiting for a friend to have tea in Matatiele. I literally bumped into this dress on a sale rack and I could not leave it behind even though I had insufficient funds not to mention that buying something was not in the menu for that day but this dress definately had to go home with Mama :) No regrets at all though!!!

Am sure you all agree that I am smashin hot and Im killing it in this number. Compliments at work were constantly thrown my direction and I was all smiles because this is one of the cheap outfits in my wardrobe and yet does magic for me and everyone around.

What nearly spoiled my day was the weather that changed drastically even before stepping out the door before going to work  in the morning and I had to put on the jacket which was way better than changing the entire outfit for the rain.

This is definately a YaY for me!!!! What do you think? Ja, its a Yayyyyyy..... hahahahahha

Tappin' in the Mens World (Red Bow Tie)

Thandie Gxono inspired this look ... She was excitedly marketing how "MensWear" spice up our feminine soft look outfits. At first, I had reservations as I never really pictured myself trying any of mens accesories. She went as far as convincing me to buy Mens Tie, Scarve and a Suspender Belt.

Immediately after we were out of Markhams store I thought my money went to waste .... I had fear, of whether or not I would be able to pull these looks of or not. When I arrived at home many ideas came to mind and I decided to wear the red velvet tie the following morning morning.

So, this is how I interpreted the menswear theme. I should say, i really felt like an Institutional Manager (my boss), hahahahaha. I was and still pleased with the results :)
