Curves Around The World: Neon

Good Evening, Friends!!!

Its Wednesday and you know what that means :)
Yes, Curves Around The World themed plus size outfits!!!

Its no different this week as well .... Our theme is NEON!!!
I love bright colours and the suit my skin colour perfect (that's what I think - esp. when convincing myself to wear more bright colours, lol).

This week I decided to feature Chubby Cartwheels famous bandeau. The bandeau's HOT PINK colour qualifies for our theme. On my last post I paired this bandeau with a bodycon skirt and this time around I decided on pairing with pants to show the versatility of this Chubby Cartwheels bandeau.

I get inspired by Shawna and working with her and also dressing her designs has really assisted me in enhancing myself's body love and also spreading the word to all of you - emphasizing to love yourselves so much the way you are RIGHT NOW.

By wearing pants with this bandeau I am trying to show you its ok to just live in the moment and be yourself. Also in need to say - its ok to show some skin. I know, my tummy is not flat and all but I comfortable to just show it anyway.

I must say, I am getting much more comfortable with myself taking, looking at and posting my pictures showing my imperfections to all of you because ive grown to love and accept them as they are.

As much as I promote being healthy but I am sorry - I am not gonna wait until I am 50kgs lighter to love myself. I love myself NOW, tomorrow and definately on the day Id lose that much weight. Happiness, Self love and positivity will definately help me get to my goal weight cause stress will do the opposite.

I say NO  to STRESS and BODY NEGATIVITY...

"Cheers to Body Positivity RIGHT NOW,
regardless of imperfections!!!"

Hope you love my small dose of NEON :)

Curves Around The World: Collars

Good Evening, guys :)

Its Curves Around The World time  and this time around we are rocking them COLLARS, lol!!!

I really wanted to wear a shirt for this challenge as I don't wear enough of them due to not being comfortable wearing them most of the time.

Would have really loved to rock that closed up Collared Shirt with a statement neckpiece look - I didn't, I guess I need to really push myself next time. I just have issues with too much serious looks and collared clothing brings that for me. I may be paranoid but I think, its so not me .... I am all about comfort first and then being stylish within my Smart Casual Style.

It may sound as if I hate collars but in actual fact I really do love them in Jackets, though and shirt dresses. For this challenge my Collar comes from the denim vest.

The weather is still hot and all I wear currently are Maxi Dresses and more maxi dresses. This time around its no different, I rocked my Maxi at work on Friday with my collared vest and sandals and I honestly think its a winning outfit :)

Do you love collars and rock them often??? In what form do you like them?

Simple Happiness

Happy Sunday Friends!!!

I am trying to stick to my word that the days of being inconsistent are over - so that you can all see that this page means a lot to me as it does to you as well.

With this post, I just wanna say - it is a new year and therefore we need to have new positive attitudes to attract happiness in our lives.

This means we need to complain less and appreciate more because in reality we have many things to be grateful  about in our lives its just that we are too busy to notice or identify them. Introspections must be done so that we can stop putting ourselves down and expect other people to come into our lives with happiness when we are not at peace with ourselves.

TO, HAPPINESS and being POSITIVE throughout this year!!!

Curves Around The World: GRUNGE

Good Evening my Fabulous Friends!!!

Its been a very long time since I last posted this is due to travelling I embarked on during this festive season and coming back to work. I think I have settled in not to miss any posts as this post is overdue and I apologise for the lack of consistency.

This posts theme is GRUNGE and if you were born before OR during 80s you will remember this kind of style as we wore many flannel shirts and doctor marten boots to spice up this look.

Many confuse punk with grunge forgetting that “Punk was antifashion,” and therefore was there to make a statement. Grunge was not about making a statement, which is why it’s crazy for it to have become a fashion statement. I am glad it did though, lol :)

The year fashion co-opted grunge in 1993 - Jean Paul Gaultier told Vogue  - grunge is nothing more than the way we dress when we have no money and that grunge has grown from the raw, messy scene surrounding the raw, messy sound—produced by a bedraggled pack of flannel-clad Pacific Northwest dropouts—that was suddenly the talk of the fashion establishment.

In my higher primary an high school GRUNGE was my staple fashion style and when looking around these days grunge is more polished up than before and that's the route I took for my outfit tonight. I think id call it Modernised Grunge or Grunge Chic ok, what ever relevant name you can give it. I am sure you get what I am trying to say here.

Now that you are probably in your 30s would you probably try this childhood fashion??? I like playing with my clothes and exploring styles and I think I can get used to this style on daily basis - pity I work in a serious environment :(

Whats your view on GRUNGE???

Casual Friday

Good evening, my Fabulous Ladies....
Hopefully you have enjoyed your weekend as much as I did or more and have rested enough to start the coming week on a high again. Tonight I just wanna share with you my last fridays outfit pictures at work as Friday is the casual day.
When the days approach friday I get excited as I know all weekend brings is "MeTime" with no compromise because I get to do what I want when I do. That is such a great feeling. Last friday was not different, as I started my day with a hype knowing Im just investing my last hours for the week and the weekend is about to start.
So, I decided to wear my cotton dark olive dress, I love this dress it fits me perfectly as it is an A-Line and it goes well with my sneakers, dr martens, boots, flat pumps, jacket, vest, shirt etc... Or should I say everything? Cause, it really is a versatile piece. I can be smart or casual, its usable in summer and winter as well. I can go on and on.
I bought this dress at Woolworths, it was on a sale rack in 2007 summer. Thank God I bought it ... They had red as well but sizes were out of stock in red, was lucky that this dark olive size16 was still waiting for me. Normally I buy size18/20 in dresses but this one fits perfectly even though its a size16, thanks to its shape.
I paired this dress with Vans HiTop sneakers that are also my favorate and the denim vest: to achieve the "Casual RockStar Chick" look. I think I nailed it. Mission was really accomplished. This outfit is simple and clean. Its just a combination of key items in each fab ladies closet. When worn together they make a statement :) What are your thoughts???? A Yay or Nay?
